RX Melandru’s Annoyance Ranger
The ‘Melandru’s Annoyance Ranger’ makes use of conditions and interrupts to apply pressure to enemy players. It is able to withstand multiple conditions and hexes through the inclusion of the elite Ranger skill, Melandru’s Resilience. Poison can be spread to a whole party to pressure enemy healers, and Screaming Shot can cause bleeding to inflict further health degeneration on an enemy player.
Difficulty:
(3/5) This build is generally easy to use but requires some skill to effectively interrupt and apply pressure to enemy players. People who are not familiar with stances may find Melandru’s Resilience hard to use at first.

Armor & Equipment:
- Max armour with Scouts insignias is suggested, although Pyrebound insignias may work to your advantage if used against Elementalist heavy teams (due to the current metagame).
- A rune of Superior Vigor is strongly suggested. A rune of Vitae is the best for the spare rune slot.
- Either a Sundering or Poisoning bow of Fortitude.
- If you are unfamiliar with Screaming Shot, it is suggested you use a Short Bow to make sure you are within earshot.
- Consider taking a longer ranged bow in a second weapon slot. Make the long bow Poisoning, so you can pressure a team from range, and the short bow Sundering or Barbed, to give you extra armor penetration or extend the bleeding from Screaming Shot.
Usage:
This build works great in Alliance Battles and is reasonably sturdy in a one on one fight. It works best against casters with no condition removal but can also be very effective against fast melee attackers such as Assassins or axe Warriors.
Dodge can be used to escape mobs, and also to move quickly between capture points.
Stance removing skills such as Wild Blow may cause problems for this build.
General Strategy:
This build is designed to pressure enemy teams whilst providing some robustness in terms of self defence. You should maintain Apply Poison at all times when attacking, and make sure to switch targets momentarily to reapply poison on a regular basis. It is usually best to concentrate your interrupts on one target, such as a Monk or Elementalists. It is wise to save Screaming Shot (particularly against Monks) until you see them cast their condition removal.
When under attack from melee classes use Whirling Defense to deflect their attacks. Heal out any degeneration whilst Whirling Defense is running by using Troll Unguent.
When hexed or under several conditions, use Melandru’s Resilience in combination with Troll Unguent for massive health regeneration.
Utilise Dodge to move between points in Alliance Battles, and also as a defensive skill when Whirling Defense is recharging.

Variations:
- Dodge can be replaced by any other running skill to get between capture points faster, or to evade enemy mobs.
- If you want some extra damage, replace Dodge with another attack skill or a cripple such as Pin Down.
- If not playing Alliance Battles, Dodge should be replaced by a resurrection spell or signet.
